Eye Makeup Application for Small Eyes

Tips, Ideas & Tricks

Our eyes define a lot about our face and act as a letter of introduction each time we connect with another person’s gaze. They are a very important physical feature on our face.

Tip 1- Take good care of your eyebrows. Groom them tidily. That becomes the foundation of shaping your eyes. Go for a well arched brow without stray hairs not to thin or thick.

Tip 2- Use a lighter shade luminizer or a base color all over the lid and under the brow to lighten the eyes. Choose a color that is not the same as your skin tone something brighter.

Tip 3-Then add a slightly darker color shadow at the outer edge of the upper eyelid where you feel the bone.

Tip 4- Avoid using black eyeliner it will make your eyes appear even smaller. Effectively you want a liner that shows off your eye color. Use navy, dark grey, darker green or brown eyeliners. Blues, greens, purples enhance brown eyes, while browns, deep purples, navy are great for green and blue eyes. Powder eyeliners give you an advantage for a wider thicker line in the outer corner which will open up the eye and make the eye look larger. This really draws your eyes out from the background, making them look larger

Tip 5- You can improve the effect of a brighter eye by adding a touch of white iridescent white powder in the inner eye corner. All you need is a small dot of color.

Tip 6- There are still more trick for making small eyes look bigger, one of which is curing your lashes. Apply your mascara evenly and don’t go over-heavy especially if you have pronounced long lashes. Too much mascara can actually hide your eyes. In either case, you want more mascara in the outer corners of your eye as well as in the center of the lash line. Go very, very lightly on the inner corner of your eye as heavy mascara here takes away from the larger eye effect you’re creating.

Finally remember that your eyes do not exist in a vacuum. Your face plays a role in how your eyes look. As the final step in Eye Makeup for Small Eyes use a pale highlighter at your cheekbone line. This naturally draws a viewer’s sight upward to our eyes, making small eyes more pronounced.
